Asian Noodle Plate

I totally forgot to take a picture of this one. Sorry. But I wanted to do a write-up anyway because the tofu cubes came out so nice.

Protein

Tofu Sesame Cubes

Slightly adapted from Mind Over Munch

Ingredients

  • 227g extra firm tofu
  • 3 Tbsp. light soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. sesame oil1
  • 1 tsp. cumin seeds, ground
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3 Tbsp. sesame seeds

Directions

  1. Wrap tofu in paper towels and press for a few minutes to extract excess moisture.
  2. Cut tofu into small cubes.
  3. Combine all remaining ingredients, mix well, and toss with tofu. Set aside for at least half an hour.
  4. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 30 minutes.

This was tasty as is. I'd be tempted to add 1/4 tsp. ground ginger next time and maybe double the garlic.

1 The original recipe calls for 3 Tbsp. sesame oil, but I found the resulting tofu somewhat greasy. I think 2 Tbsp. oil would be enough to give a nice flavour without making it excessively greasy. Back
