This is an excellent smoothie! Probably my favourite in the book. And, of course, the Kidlet likes it too. If you want to add even more protein, a scoop or two of chocolate protein powder works quite well with the cherry flavour.
Cherry-Almond Smoothie
Slightly adapted from the Complete Cookbook for Young Chefs by America's Test Kitchen
Ingredients
- 1 banana
- 1/4 c. almond butter
- 1 Tbsp. honey
- 2 c. frozen cherries
- 1 c. plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. chocolate protein powder (optional)
Directions
- Combine banana, almond butter, and honey and blend until smooth.
- Add cherries, yogurt, and milk and blend until smooth.
- Add protein powder and blend once more. If smoothie seems to thick, blend in an extra 1/4 c. milk.
